TRIP REPORT: MAPUNGUBWE SEPTEMBER 2009

Unread post by annied » Tue Sep 29, 2009 4:42 pm

Have just returned from four days in beautiful Mapungubwe. Park is dry and there has been a lot of elephant damage, but facilities are in very good nick and animals look happy. What a pity SANP cannot purchase the parcel of land between the two sections! Would be lovely to have a drive going along the river, without rolls of barbed wire and Venetia water pumps spoiling the view! The bird life is absolutely fantastic - wish I was more of a fundi so I could recognize some of the bird calls!
