Hi Stampajane,
You are correct! Most of the flight feathers are black or dark as the melanin pigment renders the feathers more tough and therefore there is less damage! I'm impressed :thumbs_up:

Yes, this antelope does live in SA... In fact you have at least 3 antelope that live in SA to chose from that do this... behaviour!

You got it! The duikers do this as they creep through the thicker bush and therefore know where their back hooves are going as to have a safe and (my guess is) quieter 'foot hold'. Any guesses on the other antelopes, now that you know this?!

SG - I will have to research those little antelope... I know most of the bush dwelling antelope do this behavior so you will find hind on front tracks with kudu, bush buck and nyala.... :thumbs_up:

Jaytea, I found a Spoor quiz, a bit old, I see it was last used in 2011, so its full of (proverbial) cobwebs and dust but it would be great to dust it off and use it again.
