Eeeeeek! Now I'm getting excited! My friend who is coming with me will be a Kruger newbie so for this trip I think we will stay towards the south area. Thinking a mixture of Croc Bridge, Lower Sabie, Satara, Tamboti and possibly Berg En Dal

KirstyL you have picked the best camps ;) Always good down to the South and as Roiies said earlier there has been little rain and you should be able to see lots of animals.
At the end of it all you don't want to go into the grave peacefully and quietly in well preserved body... You want to go sort off skidding in sideways, full of bruises and scratches saying: "Man what a ride!!!"

I will echo painter in saying that November is an excellent time to visit the park. It's nice seeing all the baby impala. I also like seeing the bush start to get green, yet not so thick yet to make sightings difficult.

I agree that November is the best month, during the last 4 years I spent every November in Kruger. When I enter the park I always wonder if I will first see an Impala baby or heasr the first Woodland Kingfisher :)
It's always anmazing to see the bush exploding after the first rains. And the park is not soo busy.
I also like your camps but if you stay for 10 nights I would do a maximum of 3 camps instead of 5

Kirsty, I love Kruger in November. The heat can be a challenge, but don't take it for granted. I once experienced a cold front setting in and the temperature dropped from 44 to 22 degrees in a couple of hours. We then had the first of the really serious rain. It was lovely. 8)

It has been my best sighting month. As has been stated, if the ground is still dry, animals congregate at dams and waterholes.

I love the baby buck everywhere. Although it can still be dry, green is setting in. This was taken from Mlondozi picnic site.

The bird doesn't sing because it has answers, it sings because it has a song.

Thanks guys, I have decided that a little bit of discomfort caused by the heat isn't worth delaying a trip to Kruger! Accommodation booked for 1st-13th November staying at Lower Sabie, Satara, Tamboti and Berg En Dal. Let the excitement and planning commence :D

Haha Kirsty I just answered you on facebook on BPOE
Advising to not pick too many camps

Novemeber is awesome coz you get to see all the tiny babies :D The grass is turning green, but it is not dense yet! The bush is alive with sounds of insects, and the summer birds start arriving! My experience of November has included little bouts of rain, but not the hours of pouring I have had in October
