The S90 is also an option, but they say it's also a very poor road for sightings. Any suggestions for the best route?

It's always difficult to suggest a route to take....things could change so rapidly!
However, I planned to take the S90 (a road that I really love) when we travelled from Satara up to Balule; but turned around after about 2 km; the combination of the extremely dry conditions (similar to the S39 which we took on the way back a week later) and quite bad corrugations changed my mind!
We actually saw quite a lot along the H1-4, including 4 of the big 5 (no lions, saw those earlier just north of Tshokwane). I am not a big fan of the tar roads, but in this case the water holes along the H1-4 presently makes this probably the best bet right now.

Thank you Albert. I think the H1-4 will be best road to take!
