Lower Sabie (H10 and surrounds)

Unread post by jing » Thu Mar 17, 2016 4:19 pm

Hi all,

I'm visiting KNP in end-May and will be staying Lower Sabie for two nights.

On my full day I'd like to cover as much as I can along the H10 route (it is my favourite road in the world thus far).

However I've not explored the gravel roads surrounding H10 and would like advice on which are the roads (S29, S128, S129) that are worth taking on my clear day there.

What are the best spots? What's not to be missed in that area? Any lookout points worth checking out? Let me know!

Any input is much appreciated! Thanks guys and I can't wait.

Cheers!

Well, it is difficult to say which road is the best, but whenever I am in that area, I will always make sure that I travel the S29 at least once. Have had some great cheetah sightings there. Good luck!!

Dear jing

The roads (tar and gravel) to the South and West of Lower Sabie are frequently much more productive than the H10.

The H4-1, H4-1, S28 and S130 can be a real treat.

You should at least consider these when you stay at Lower Sabie.

Thanks for the input, Mfezi and justus!

I will consider those roads as well, I have two days there and will likely be starting off from Croc Bridge or Malelane in Day 1 so definitely will look at those areas as well.

Thanks!
