INDEX to the best unit numbers

Unread post by roaneric » Thu Aug 22, 2013 8:38 pm

Hi Everyone :yaya:

I get this question a lot... Which unit is the best? So I thought it's easy to make an index list of the best located bungalows/tents/huts, especially for those people who want to request the best units and don't have time to read through all the different topics.

Now, this is just my opinion, and please feels free to give your opinion on which units you think is just as good or even better, and I will add them to the index list.

By requesting a unit, you can e-mail, fax or telephone the camps directly. Here you can find the addresses and numbers

Hi guys,

This is why I love the forum because you get so much useful info.
In all the years going to Kruger I was not aware that one can request a specific unit number, but where do I do this. Do I contact central reservations or the specific camp?

PietSkiet you must contact the camp about 2 or 3 weeks before you arrive, they will ask you for your reservation number, I've found the camps very helpful when requesting a specific unit

:hmz:

I've never requested a specific unit before, but have just been advised by Tyron at Reservation House that if I want a LST2U Safari Tent at Lower Sabie that actually have a river view, I have to contact the camp and ask for one with a river view... :?

So, which e-mail should I use? The Duty Manager's e-mail or perhaps the Hospitality Services Manager's e-mail? Or is there another e-mail of someone that specifically deals with unit assignments?

Hi

we recently stayed in BD3U units nrs 106 and 108 in Olifants. Unit 106 is definitely a better option at this time due to a tree blocking 108's view and nr 106 being at the end of the row.

Still amazing accommodation in any event! We had a visit by a honey badger at the fence whilst braaiing

This has been so useful, thank you very much. However, I cannot find a recommendation for which GC6B (Guest Cottage) is the best option in Satara Rest Camp. We are due to spend the night there on 19 January so I need to make a reservation quickly if possible.

Hi Deeds,

:hmz:

Have a look at the Satara Camp Map

By the looks of it, it does not seem to have a great view like the BD2V Units. So if I had to choose I would go for 80 or 85. But also having said that, you will be in a unit where your view is a circle view of all the other units. So none of the units have a "front door" view of the fence.

Never stayed there, but from memory all those units there llok lovely, and so well positioned.

I am sitting on the verandah of Unit 101 in Letaba Camp. It is right on the river and the unit has recently been refurbished. Anyone wanting super accommodation need look no further.
