All the huts and bungalows that I have seen at Lower Sabie are either semi detached or attached in long rows or in clusters.
Maybe there are some hidden free standing ones other than the guest house or tents for us to discover, but there is not much space available for free standing!

The New EH4 huts are not newly built they are part of the old Family Bungalow (FU5) which was a 2 bedroomed 5 sleeper number 66 (see picture
http://www.sanparks.org/parks/images/ac ... 5/2885.jpg )

Family Bungalow (FU5)
http://www.sanparks.org/parks/kruger/ca ... &resort=18

The 2 sleeper was converted into a 3 sleeper and the rounded corner which was a 3 sleeper was converted in to a 4 sleeper the Wc and shower and the wooden fence outside has been removed. There is also been a new communal kitchen that has been built facing the huts just behind the amphitheatre
(see map http://www.sanparks.org/assets/docs/par ... ie-map.pdf ) catering for huts from number 49 to 66. Its the part of the camp where there is along row of huts joined together and only the corner units are rondavels.

We stayed in number 66 which is the corner rondavel unit which had a mini kitchen and enough cutlery and crockery to cater for 6 people. There are pots an a pan no stove though.

Hope this information helps

New safari tents being built in Lower Sabie! I believe there are 5 new tents going up presently and another ten to be refurbished in the future.

Hi all. After "enjoying" 40 degree + temperatures in the safari tents last December, I am hoping to have an air conditioner this year. I would like to choose between an EH2 and EH3 (was lucky to get the EH3 today) and would like to know which huts mites prefer. In looking at the forum pictures, it seems that the EH2 are slightly more private and more traditional in feel, while EH3 are side by side like a hotel. Also, being so close to the pool, are the EH3 exceptionally noisy?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.....

Horace

Hi all

can someone that have stayed in the EH3 huts close to the swimming pool this year please comment on the state of the communal bathrooms. The last time we stayed there about 2 years ago it was in a very bad state. I see some new pictures of the accommodation and communal kitchen has been posted, but I can't see any feedback regarding the bathroom.

I am looking at booking a unit for us for October but only if they have upgraded the bathrooms as well

any feedback will be appreciated

kind regards

Ansie

Hi Ansie,
We were there end of March, and the old circular ablution was still shabby, with apologies on a notice... the old rectangular one closer to the caravan park/round EH2 huts was also run down, and stinking of bat guano every morning... will need a cleanout. A neighbour even complained of bats in his EH2 hut -- he was given another room... still lovely to be there!
The NEW ABLUTION block was nearly completed (right opposite the swimming pool, where the OLD KITCHEN used to be).
You should have the best ablution available when you go!
Enjoy.
God bless,

Friedrich von Hörsten
