Makahana is roughly north of SanParks Nyalalnd trails camp . This picture taken from there facing in an easterly direction .
KNP is sacred. I am opposed to the modernisation of Kruger and from the depths of my soul long for the Kruger of yesteryear! 1000+km on foot in KNP incl 56 wild trails.200+ nights in the wildernessndloti-indigenous name for serval.

Ah . . . OK, that places Makahana upstream of The Outpost and the Mutale confluence, at the other end of Luvuvhu Gorge. About 5 km as the crow flies, would be my best guess.

Great photos JR. Ndloti, slightly to the right of centre of JR`s photo the entrance to the gorge can be seen through which the Levhuvhu comes. The gorge then bends to the left, straightens a little and eventually bends to the right again before reaching Makahane. From the other end, which is from your photo`s perspective, you can see it clearly - it swings to the right, straightens and then slightly left again to emerge at that point on JR`s photo.

Took these panoramas in January 2012.
Somewhere between the picnic site and Crooks Corner. The area was extremely dry but during our visit in January 2013, before the floods, it was even drier than this.

Thanks for the pics Johann - very nice panoramas! I hope next January you are able to go down that road again and take pics of the same areas. (Just be nice to the flood gods please, I do not think anyone there would like a flood third year running :pray: :wink: )

Dear Grantmissy;

The renovations at TEBA did start in November 2013 and we have experienced delays due to circumstances beyond our control. Progress is being made and TEBA is expected to open during 2015.

We have also renovated the old SAPS House at Punda Maria which is expected to open within the next 2 months.

Thanks Lesego

Is the SAPS House at Punda Maria the cottage that is called "Russel Cottage" on the 2015/2015 tarrifs PDF download?

That seems to answer your question on another thread, K-4S. It looks like it will be very nice and I look forward to seeing/hearing more about it.
