Hello,
Do any of you have opinions on which Olifants guesthouse is better, Lebombo or Nshawu? Pros and cons of each?
Thanks so very much!

I haven't stayed at Lebombo but have had a couple of stays at Nshawu and IMO that is the one to go for! 8)

Have a read through Guest Houses in Kruger for some info and pics!

For those who have asked, attached is a photo of the new pool at Olifants from our recent trip. It's really nice and was getting some good use! Our kids loved it!

In response to Alf: maybe the photo is a bit misleading - the pool is not that small, albeit it is not Olympic size... :o

This question is for Lesley Nyawo, what system is SANparks going to have in place to prevent the day visitors from using the pool? Or is it going to be allowed? Thank you

Dear tent dweller

I trust you are well.
I have consulted with our Nxanatseni Regional Tourism Manager as follows :

The swimming pool is only for overnight guests.
We have since implemented a system whereby on check-in the guest will receive a token which is to be presented at the swimming pool gate and will then be granted access.
Part of our master plan is to move the Olifants day visitor site out of the camp.
we can’t give you a timeframe for this yet.

I doubt it Graham and won't be until they are all completed, so best just to take a note of the numbers Lesley has supplied.

Re: Olifants Rest Camp Where is BD3U - Map doesn't show

Unread post by Travelstory » Fri Oct 16, 2015 10:56 pm

Hi Formites,
Excitedly we are coming back from the US to Kruger for trip #.... 10 I think.... perhaps 11.

We booked Olifants BD3U. I was looking on the camp map to see where this is on the map but it doesn't show that code.

Any clues?

I know they just renovated many of the huts.

Thank you!!

Hi Dana

Have a look here for all the info you need - there are some photos of the BD3U units and also a note that they are marked as BG3U on the maps still.

Does any know have the following info for me pleeeeeease? :gflower:
a) photos of the NG2U units? - I have tried accessing them on the "accommodation photos" link but all of the NG2U photos so kindly added by roaneric do not seem to be visible :(
b) are they any plans to upgrade these units during this year (i.e. to add kitchens or that sort of thing)?
c) aaaaaaaaand, given the choice between BD3, BG2 and NG2U units which would you choose? (these are the only options available - I am trying to add a couple of extra days onto my existing September booking and am struggling to decide on a camp/unit/everything!)

Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks so much

Foxy wrote:Has anyone recently stayed at Olifants camp in one of the BBD2V chalets - Nos 9 - 13. Which one of these would you rate as the one with the best river view.?

Hi Foxy,

besides in No. 12 we meanwhile stayed in every chalet. The best view undoubtably do have either no. 10 or 13. No. 9 has a fence in front which is a bit annoying although the view into both directions is also great and No. 11 and 12 do have trees in front of the chalet.

If I would have the choice chose No. 10 or 13. Nevertheless the view is always breathtaking.
