Re: Olifants Rest Camp Where is BD3U - Map doesn't show

Unread post by Travelstory » Fri Oct 16, 2015 10:56 pm

Hi Formites,
Excitedly we are coming back from the US to Kruger for trip #.... 10 I think.... perhaps 11.

We booked Olifants BD3U. I was looking on the camp map to see where this is on the map but it doesn't show that code.

Any clues?

I know they just renovated many of the huts.

Thank you!!

Hi Dana

Have a look here for all the info you need - there are some photos of the BD3U units and also a note that they are marked as BG3U on the maps still.

Hi Foxy,

besides in No. 12 we meanwhile stayed in every chalet. The best view undoubtably do have either no. 10 or 13. No. 9 has a fence in front which is a bit annoying although the view into both directions is also great and No. 11 and 12 do have trees in front of the chalet.

If I would have the choice chose No. 10 or 13. Nevertheless the view is always breathtaking.

arks wrote:Pumbaa, you should definitely try #12, it is my personal favourite -- a lovely view plus good trees for birding from your stoep. I've seen a few lifers there

@ Foxy: I recommend #12. I've never tried #13 because the braai is behind the rondavel, which I definitely would not care for. I've only stayed in #12 and #9, but I think that 10 and 11 would also be excellent.

Thanks for the hint, arks :P

In fact I forgot about the braai of No. 13 which is the only disadvantage of that chalet as the view is breathtaking

Congrats to the Camp! Also to Titus Nkuna, who is the superintendent at Balule, in the blue suit in the pic - Balule is part of Olifants Camp.

Olifants BD2U

Unread post by K-4S » Fri Sep 23, 2016 2:57 pm

Hi everyone

I just wanted to ask if anyone could tell me which are the two best BD2U units at Olifants that have the best view? I had a look on the best unit location topic but the number stated there is not a BD2U unit according to the camp map.

Thanks for the suggestions

Have a look at the two listed in the Accommodation photos topic.
I have stayed in # 19 and found it very nice as it has a bush and a river view.

And a read from Here where the bungalows on the other side are also recommended. They will be the BD3U's

Yes. It's near the reception and the day visitors picnic area - on the other side of the road.

Does anyone know what the number for the Guest Cottage GA4 in Olifants Rest Camp is?

I am not entirely sure GM, will try and find out in the next week.
In the description it is not a perimeter so possibly a new bungalow?
