Tsendse Loop (S48)

Unread postby UKWAZI » Thu Aug 05, 2010 6:15 am

Hey everybody...

Just wondered, has anybody seen anything spectacular on this road. I've driven it many times and never seen anything apart from the usual. But in my view, it's a great road to take and according to the amount of tracks and signs, the animals are there in their numbers. Please share your experiences on this road because I really think that I'm a bit 'luck disabled' in Kruger
To be or not to be, that is the question...I am and I want to be!!!

Driving along away from the river I saw 2 male lions sat either side of the road, facing each other. SO, who was driving didn't see them and we almost drove straight past them, I couldn't get the words "lion" and "STOP" out quickly enough. Unfortunately we'd disturbed them. As they ambled away, a third male joined them.

Want to say Thank You or Well Done to a fellow 'mite? Why not nominate them for a Kudu?

We drove it for the first time in Feb this year and also didn't have anything spectacular to see, lots of the usual game, Elephants etc. but it does look like it has potential for something special and I would definitely drive it again. :D

During those 4 days of rain in November 2009 we were lucky to spot a caracal with a catch ( ground hornbill) . The loop had actually been closed , we found this out when we came out the other side, my 4x2 was the best 4x4 by far................. best time in the park and we were the only residents in tsendze at the time . :) :) :) :)

Just remember, there is more than one Tsendze Loop, the one Ukwazi is talking about is the one that is 17Km long and 2Km south of the H14 turn off.

I quite enjoy this road and there are reports of Black Rhino in the area.

Also saw a caracal on this road (May 2008). It was seen in the Mopaneveld on the Southern end of the S48
