Anybody done this before? Actually need to know what the temperatures are like.

Thanks for all comments.

Warm welcome to the forum Festi68!

Not specific to Balule but a general idea of what September in Kruger can be like.

Enjoy your trip.

Hi Festi68

It can be hot, but always come prepared for some cold too - but mostly warm to hot. And we had one visit there in September where it was windy for a bit. But dont let any of that put your off - Balule is so special, and anytime there is wonderful.

An inexpensive spray bottle filled with cool water, and a fan - and your SO will be able to cool down well and enjoy her trip :D

We are booked for camping at Balule for the 27th and 28th September 2017.
First visit to Balule and first time camping in Kruger.
Cannot wait

We've been to KNP three times so far.
2012, 2013 and 2015.....all in last week September running into October.

The first two visits we had pleasant and moderate temperatures.
2015 however was another story altogether.

Humid and extremely, extremely hot.
So much so, that I dreaded starting a fire and having to braai even as late as 8pm
2017 Golden Gate NP 22-23 Sep - Crocodile Bridge 24-25 Sep - Balule 26-28 Sep - Skukuza 29-30 Sep - Lower Sabie 1-6 October

Balule is a very special small camp...
The camping ground and surrounds have a wonderful "atmosphere" to it,
It can be very hot, and can get really chilly some nights in September/October
As long as you have a jacket or three and a cuddly blanket for "just in case"
Im sure you will enjoy, and even fall in love with Balule

It is a camp that is easy to fall in love with.

Last December, I was lucky enough to spend ages and ages watching about 15 hyena playing and doing what hyena do about 2 kms from Balule at one of the culverts. Most were little ones, full of energy and acting like curious, playful puppies.
The bird doesn't sing because it has answers, it sings because it has a song.

Balule is small camp and it feels like it is hidden away, that's why I love it. There are always hyena's around camp 8)
