We planned 3 nights in Letaba, what du you think from the unit 17? How far is this from the restaurant and how loud?
We are still undecided what should we take, but what we know is, with view!

Thank you for your help :k :k

Never stayed in that one before Rita, Here is a pic of it and you will see how close it is to the restaurant.
My favourites are either # 29 or 30 or preferably # 64.

#64 is private because it is next to the guest house fence. See my pic just above in a post of mine. Hard to say which has the best view - I always feel those other side of the restaurant are further away from the river, even if the view is more open :hmz:

Hi All,

I am planning a 4 day camping trip for next year.
How is the camping site in Letaba, is there grass or is it more dirt and is there braai facilities at every stand?

Thank you

There will be braai stands at each site Rooster!

Do have a look through Campsites in Kruger where you will be able to pick up some great advice and info.

Here are some pics I took in May this year. There is no grass in the campsite - probably due to the drought.

There are braais for each stand

A lovely camping area!

Can't recall there ever being grass in Letaba camping, but it is one of my favorite camps especially when camping. Plenty space so you not on top of each other and trees for shade. Can't go wrong there.

RobertT wrote::thumbs_up: I have never seen grass in the camping area, which area of camping part was this? Is this area close to where the CTT4 tents are as that is only area I can think of that might have had grass?

Nope, the tent pic is more 'central', look at the kitchen in the pic behind tent. The other one shows the road behind it. So far from the CTT4 tents.

Some more pics from another of the number of times we camped there when there has been grass. In all the pics (previous and here) I have tried to include 'landmarks' so those who do know the camping area well can see where the pics were taken

Note - not current pics - currently Letaba does not have grass in the camping area.

RobertT wrote::shock: Never seen it like that, some of those pics look like at the old bottom gate? I am generally down that side and never seen it like that. Are you sure you didn't photoshop some green in?

Yip, some are of there - we prefer to camp there if we can get a nice site. I also have drive by videos of the rest of the camping area all lush and green.

And no, no photoshop, scouts honour - you should maybe just visit the park more often

Years ago Letaba always had grass. They used to block of areas to let the grass regrow, but those days are long gone. We have been camping/staying in furnished tents there since early 90's. It still remains one of my favourite camps

Unread post by Dono » Mon Aug 29, 2016 5:06 pm

Greetings. can anyone tell me if there are any utensils, pots or pans available in the EA3U huts in Letaba, and if not are they available anywhere, :( I see Lower Sabie has upgraded their huts since last we were there and they have utensils pots and pans. great for us coming up from the western Cape.

Dono, until someone who has recently stayed in one of those huts and comes in to say otherwise, I would from the description on the website say there will not be utensils.

Features:

3 single beds
Air-conditioned
Basin
Communal ablutions
Communal Kitchen
Fridge
No Smoking
No utensils
Perimeter

Maybe it will be best to contact the camp directly and ask. 013 7356636
