Thanks Pete for the wonderful pictures and the live feed!!

Have you managed to keep the cam running or can you still only capture single pictures(They are nice too 8) ...but just wondering if it's possible to keep the cam on a constant feed on the internet??

How is the data consumption??? :hmz:

Hi vinkie, this afternoon I've been manually posting pictures as we were going along. There wasn't much to see until we bumped into the lion

Live streaming would be impossible due to the data connection speed.

Today was a fantastic day despite the park seeming very quiet at times. Some things were too small for the webcam (it won't let me zoom)... yellow mongoose, BBJ pair hunting mice! the lion were magnificent and we had 2 separate caracal sightings - one of which might have made it on the cam :D

Braai time now then another visit to the camp waterhole this evening.

It's been great going on a ride with you and your family again.
Thanks so much!!!

Hope you'll have a great evening, something exciting at the waterhole
and a fruitful morning drive before you leave the park tomorrow!

I went back and checked the caracal pic, but you can't really make it out properly... if only the webcam app had a zoom function on it

Image
If you follow the track heading into the bush there's a small clearing... with a slightly brown blob in it... that's the caracal. I'm afraid I reached for my real camera before my phone

Here you can see just how close the lion came to us... my son David peering out the back window after the lion just walked past the car

Image

Later on they were enjoying their afternoon sleeps and really didn't seem to want to be disturbed - any car which drove by them got a whack with a paw!!

Plan for tomorrow:

Get up and catch a 6am drive... webcam on as much as possible - probably 30 second intervals... let's see what we can find :D

Thanks yet again for posting even more pics!
I'm sure, you'll have a proper photo to substain your 'claims'
for the 'slightly brown blob'.

But thinking about it, you also said 'eland' and I trusted you, so...

PJL, how lucky can you get!!!
Best presuppositions now to see that leopard as well tomorrow morning.

Spookie, there, I fixed it for you!
Now now, LS. Surely you know the saying: "It's the caracal in the bush after all" when it comes to webcam shots

Yesterday it was Bennett and Co...did you see them? 8)

I agree with Melph68...this project by PJL is a great success

Still wonder if it is possible to send streaming video to internet  maybe next time we go we could try this. :hmz: Just will have to take a bigger internet bundle with higher upload possibilities if they are available .... :hmz:

It's absolutely pouring with rain in Addo this morning, so we're going to wait til later to start a drive. Can't imagine any animals being out in this!
