After comparing the back of the head of the leopard at the waterhole right now i can confirm that it is Langklaas.
She is looking quite thin and drinking quite a bit of water.

She is looking thin. And is it not unusual for leopard to drink this much Matt?

I really hope that she is just resting......and not 'you know what'

Did they upgrade the Nossob cam, it is cool how it is moving around and zoomed in ?

She is certainly looking thin, i agree there. As for how much she is drinking. It is hard to tell exactly the quantity. It is certainly weird that she would take a nap at a waterhole.
Keeping fingers crossed.

I've heard that a ranger is going to go and take a look. Lets hope they don't jump to any conclusions.

Do you know how old she is AstroMatt?

Shame, she looking fragile ... but I am sure still needs to be treated with great respect? One hears of stories of hurt/old leopards being very dangerous?

Unusually we have a pretty good idea of her age.
She was born up at Grootkolk sometime at the start of 2006. So she would be around 8 years old at the moment. Maybe its birthday blues!

She certainly does not look good, and to lie in the sun like that makes one wonder. :hmz:

She vanished at 13:27 between frame updates. Probably a good sign. Lets just hope we get a sighting of er later and can check her condition more thoroughly.

I see on the 24th of April Wanderw said that if a previous mating was successful Lanklaas might have cubs!

Could this maybe be why she is so thin???

It is certainly a possibility. However, we've had quite a few sightings of her after the last mating (December 2013, January and April 2014) and in none of these has she looked pregnant or like she has recently given birth. It is of course very hard to tell from some of these photos so there is the possibility that her condition is due to this.
We can hope
