Hi Pantera Leo

As part of Punda Mania, we went for a walk along the Levuvu river on the western border of Kruger. We dipped on the Pel’s, but got the Finfoot instead!!

What a fantastic topic , I have seen 372 birds in southern africa but have never counted just my kruger birds. Will have to whip out my book and start counting. I recon I might be around 250 -280 but will start counting but I have been inspired to try hit 300 + by all the fantastic members on this forum.

Thank you ...

Hi Pantera Leo

I spoke to the HR's who presented Punda Mania. They have not decided on next year's Mania yet, but I think it would continue some time next summer. The cost was R3400 p.p.

Good luck, Richman. After the rains, birding would be wonderful in the North.

My Kruger List is 206 confirmed species  - may increase when I can successfully identify a few LBJs. :hmz:

It was my first trip to the KNP in over 20 years, and my first to the north of Satara - so a large number of birds were lifers (86 in total). Highlights include Pennant-winged Nightjar, Eastern Nicator, Three-banded Courser, Trumpeter Hornbill, Bohm's Spinetail.
