Purely a guess, but I would say Rattling Cisticola which is common in the park.

I've been really puzzling over this one :wall: I think that it's a canary, but which one has both a bright yellow rump and pale legs? My best guess, even tho it seems like rather a long shot, is that it may be a female lemonbreasted canary  I saw it in mid-April at Crooks Corner, which looks like it may be just on the borline of its range? Getting even an ID photo was quite a mission!

Arks I think that Lemon-breasted Canary is correct , the female. The pink legs and the bold malar stripe.

Thanks Ladybirder :gflower: and WTM :gflower:

My pesonal birding "system" is to take lots and lots of photos and then hope to work out the IDs once I'm back home (often several months later  ) and can look at my pix on my large(r) monitor. This one was quite a surprise, since while the photos aren't great since the birdie was either in shade of deep in a shrub  , it was clearly at least a canary and lemonbreasted was the only one that seemed to fit, but I wasn't sure whether it might be a bit out of range. I'm glad to know that they've been seen in that area before and of course, delighted that I was lucky enough to see one. Definitely a great find!

weirdnumber, you certainly saw many LBJs! Not my strength!
I think your "pipit" is a Sabota Lark.
And I would agree on the Marico Flycatcher.

As for the rest - hopefully one of the experts will help out soon.

Agree with Karin on the Sabota lark.

I'd also suggest that you crop some of your more "distant" images as that may help with coming up with an ID.

Thanks, Sabota Lark looks good.

Unfortunately the very distant shots are already cropped in nearly 1:1 so there isn't much else that can be done. Clicking on the thumbnails opens a larger image, but as far as cropping goes that's it.
