I haven't updated my stats -
my Pilansberg and Rietvlei trips took me to 280 as at 27/04.
I wondered what the odds would be of getting 20 lifers in Kruger from 30 April to 3 May. I thought it would be a long shot, n=but I saw 16 lifers during my trip!

I am now on 296.

Let's see what the rest of the month holds in store.

Just got back from Kirstenbosch and AT LAST found the skulking lemon dove that has eluded me on my last dozen or so visits. Now 671.

I identified 4 more birds from photos from my Kruger trip, 2 weeks later spotted 5 more, and with a Southern Black Korhaan and a Rock Kestrel on Sunday, I crossed the 300 Mark and am now on 307!

A couple of great outings netted some good results. Temminck's Courser and Lesser Falmingo this weekend took my list to 326.

At the start of the year my target was "as many as possible"
Year list is now on 301.
Lifer list for the year is 145. With 5 and a bit month to go, and hoping for an average of 5 lifers/month, I now have a target of 170.
Ready, set, go ....

Update - I confirmed an ID of a bird seen in March. Then I decided to take my camera with me to Umhlanga on my most recent business trip. Some birding before work and during lunch on Thursday netted 3 lifers.

Total as at July -330!
