Thanks for your responses. We certainly will self-drive around the park but will also avail of either an evening or night drive, too.

What is the hiking like in the Zuurberg (day hike)?

One other question - a bit off the topic I started but hopefully ok:
- we will need to drive to the Port Elizabeth airport on the morning of July 15, for a 9:30AM flight to CT; how long is the drive, and when should we leave, considering the departure time and we have to drop off our rental?

MINIMUM time to leave for PE 07 h 00

Moonglum, last month we had to do a similar thing... we left Addo an hour and a half before we needed to book in for the flight. We did not have a rental to drop off, but that usually only takes a few minutes...unless you paying for it at drop off? PE airport is not the busiest in Africa :D.... so I'd suggest that you allow a minimum of 2 and half hours between leaving Addo and your flight takes off. You may leave the camp area before the gates open as there is a 24 guard at the gate.

Ranger Guided or similar hikes in Eastern Cape Parks

Unread post by rogerg » Thu Jun 13, 2013 9:53 pm

We have just returned from a ranger guided 2 day walk in Kruger and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being in the bush with the animals. Only problem is that it is one heck of a long way from PE. We were wondering if there are any similar hikes in the local parks like Addo or Mountain Zebra?

Is it possible to visit Addo during Christmas? And are tours available during those holidays?

Thanks for your reply!!!

You can have a look on the link below for a full list of activities available at Addo. It is one of the park's busiest periods, so I would suggest you book in advance through the Game Drives Reception office - 042 233 8657. ... efault.php
