ACCOMMODATION PHOTOS (Cape Parks)

Unread post by roaneric » Thu Apr 19, 2012 11:02 pm

Hello everyone

I thought it would be a good idea to start an 'accommodation photos' thread in the Cape parks as well. It's been a huge success in the Kruger national park section and there are so many people who would like to see the photo's of forumites who visited the parks.

If you have any pictures of your bungalow or especially the view from your bungalow, please feel free to add your pictures here. Will you then please state:

* The park/camp
* The type of accommodation (for instance BD3)
* and then the bungalow/tent number

(If you wish to create collages, it will be appreciated. It brings the number of photo's per page to a minimum. It's not an obligation, just a suggestion. If you do not know how to make a collage, you are welcome to PM 'Lion queen'. She can help with it. Here is an example of her collages.)

You can find maps of the different camps here below.

With the permission of Arks, I will add her pictures here.

This area is directly below chalets 9 and 10. On the day when I stayed in the camp for most of the day, there were two different groups using this braai area, a group of young people supervised by SANParks in the morning and a large group of campers in the late afternoon. Even tho both of these groups were quite large, they kept noise to a minimum. I was most impressed that such large groups did not create any real disturbance to my enjoyment spending the day in camp.

Tankwa Karoo Accommodation

We stayed at Paulshof cottage, a few kilometres from Reception. Blissfully quiet. No electricity - only paraffin lamps. Gas for fridge. Donkey for hot water. For more details see my Travel Tale 'Tinkering in the Tankwa'.

Agulhas Accommodation

There are 3 cottages at Rhenosterkop. We stayed in No.2, a two sleeper. Very cosy. More comments in my Travel Tale 'Scratching the Bottom of Africa'.
