Hi there, Just returned from KTP. I saw this bird at Kij Kij. Can you help with the id please, we think its a Kestrel but which one, Greater or Lesser? We gauged the size to that of a Rock Kestrel. Sorry not the greatest photo.

Please help with an ID (ID thread not working?)
At first I thought it was a juvenile Bataleur, but closer look a Gymnogene?

Hi Richard,

I think you're right, to me it looks like a juvenile African Gymnogene.

I've never seen one that close, you were lucky

Hi Clive,

Lovely series! Love the Kori Bustard having a dust bath :D

Best regards,

Rob

Amazing... A Crimson-breasted Shrike that sits still for a moment. Every time I point my camera into the direction of one of them it startes to move... :(
The red chest is soooo beautiful, it is hard to find a deeper, brighter colour red in nature.

Jan,
Your photo of the Crimson-breasted Strike is beautiful
I have never been able to get a good photo,
they never sit still for long enough!
or maybe I am too slow in taking the photo
