Giraffe and oryx at 14th waterhole, a second giraffe nearby under a tree - we saw it finally after some minutes.

Very nervous, it took several attempts to drink, but stopped always and walked around.

Finally, it brought itself and got some water.

Maybe the reason - three lions sleeping under a tree a few hundred meters from the waterhole.

Ladybirder and Hilda, thank you.
Hilda, you are right, giraffes alone dont't give a real impression of their hight.

But nevertheless, next day, same waterhole, no oryx and no lions : it does take only a short time to get a drink.

But better to check out

Eos5d and Hilda, it was amazing to see so many giraffes.

That day we count 22, all around Craig Lockhart, Dalkeith and 14th Waterhole in several groups. This might be half of all giraffes at KTP, if they are still about 40. Does anybody know the actual number.

Some more ....
