Best CH2 in Nossob

Unread post by gjorgi » Sat Mar 26, 2016 5:06 pm

Hi everyone, I'm taking a big fat chance here but hope someone can assist.

We're going to be in Nossob for 3 days in May staying in a CH2 unit. From the map of Nossob on the Sanparks website it is not clear which units are CH2 (shows only numbers 1 to 11.....with a few named with an added letter ie 5a etc). Taking into consideration that there will be construction activities, which CH2 unit will you guys recommend I try and get. I want to call them 4 weeks in advance and see if it is possible to be placed somewhere specific. It does not need to be near anything, what we want is as quiet as possible under the circumstances.

thanks in advance!!

Hi gjorgi

My "crib-notes" reflect the current unit types but not all their respective numbers.
(confirmation/amendment required by those in the know)

CH2 (7 units) = 5A, 5B, 5C, 9B, ??, ??, ??
CH3 (1 unit) = ??
CH3Z (2 units) = 6, 7
CH4 (4 units) = 1, 2, 3, 4
CH6 (1 unit) = 10A
FA6 (1 unit) = 8
GH2/4 (1 unit) = 11A
GH4 (1 unit) = 11B

Hope this helps :)
Cheers, Ian

AVIATION IN ITSELF IS NOT INHERENTLY DANGEROUS, BUT TO AN EVEN GREATER DEGREE THAN THE SEA,
IT IS TERRIBLY UNFORGIVING OF ANY CARELESSNESS, INCAPACITY OR NEGLECT.

Thanks Gannet a.k.a Ian, you're a legend.

So it seems that getting away from the construction isn't really going to happen as it's on both sides of Nossob......that's assuming they're already working on both sides. If they're only busy on the south side I suppose unit 9b would be better and vise versa.

Any recommendation on the units without taking the construction into consideration or is it much of a muchness?

thanks

Hi gjorgi (Jurgens)

I've got no experience of CH2 (done CH4 + GH4), but reckon it is much of a muchness.
The only difference may be in the privacy (as Jonkers states) and the walking distance between the unit and the hide.
Regarding construction work + noise, it is possible that accommodation nearer to the "new-campsite" may be quieter - but that is purely a guess.

Enjoy your KTP trip - I can't wait for mine in July/August :D
Cheers, Ian
