Re: Kgalagadi camp sites - are they shaded

I think in the three "big camps", camping will be not difficult to find some shade

@wayneman - All the 3 main camps have degrees of shade at their campsites. TR - also has some structures with a 'reed' ceiling for those campsites that do not have shady trees. Mata Mata and Nossob have more trees and you should be able to get a shady spot, unless you are going when the camp is very busy. A lot of the 'shade' trees are thorny trees, so take care.

Welcome to the forum wayneman.

End of April should not be too hot, so shade might not be an issue, but the others have given you good advice.

You might catch the end of the rainy season, and if rain is forecast, don't camp next to the fence in Mata Mata, it is the lowest point and you might get flooded.

KTP is a wonderful place. You might be tempted to book more before you leave.

The water is brak, so take enough drinking/cooking water from home.
Whatever (according to BB): "You are correct but I don't want to admit it".
