Thanks for the link to the video Luca.
This sighting was originally posted way back on the 7th February 2012 by Afkpuz (http://www.sanparks.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=18567&start=420)
It looks like some of the old picture links have gone down so its good to have the video here.
The sighting is odd in that it is between two females, Miera and Amur. We still don't know what it was all about, possibly they are related through Khomani but from different litters...who knows.

Hi kesheshe....thanks for posting these pics. Looks like a wonderful sighting.
Could i ask you to email me a high resolution version of the 8th picture so i can have a zoom in ;)
I saw on fb that you had sightings of them on the 17th, 20th,21st and 26th....could i ask you to report all of these on my website so i have all the records.
If you could also send a photo of each leopard from each sighting that would be great.
Cheers
Matthew

Thanks Kesheshe....now that Rae has solved the mystery of Warona's sex (she's female) i don't need the high res shot of the 8th picture.
Just included fairly decent images from each sighting so that i can make positive IDs and include them in my database. File sizes of around 1Mb are ideal.
Cheers

It was 110 apparently! Fantastic turn-out and Matthew gave a great talk :D

Take home messages for those who missed it:
-No picture of a leopard is too old (historical sightings can be really important)
-No picture is too dark or blurry or far away to be worth sending: it's amazing what can be ID'd!
-There's a new logo for the project! Hope Astromatt will post it on here

And I have seen the great new logo for the project  - I believe a BIG thank you must go to Koru for designing it!  (Fantastic work Susie!)

Ok AstroMatt, how about posting it!

Thanks for the comments RichardJ, Koru and Wanderw.

It was a really fun talk to give and i really think a lot of people will be recruited to the project.
Wanderw is 100% correct when she says there is a new project logo and thanks must go to Susie (Koru) for designing it :k

I hope you all like it....can you see who it is??

I wanted to share a couple of my photo's from the same day as Katja's. I think this one was also near Urikaruus so I guess its the same Leopard.

Hi katanga! Thanks for posting your sighting! Tshidi it is!
If you can, please fill in the 'Report a Sighting' form in the link at the bottom of the post - AstroMatt needs the details for the project, even if it was on the same day. Many thanks! :D

Yes, same day, same leopard.
He was under the tree almost all day but came down to the road just before it was time to return to Urikaruus.

We had a few leopard sightings during our last visits.

This one was on the 27th of October and I'm sure all of you can see where............

Image

and yes I know that is not a leopard in the photo!!!

We heard the story of the leopard kill from rjm and when visiting Auchterlonie we checked out the whole place before getting out!!

As we were leaving the picnic site two cars were coming up the hill and stopped before getting to the top! then we saw that the leopard was on its way back up to the museum!!

Image

This is the only photo I got and it's not the best to identify this leopard I know!

we drove back up and parked in front of the museum. Next moment the other cars doors opened and people got out. they walked down the little walk way and next moment leopard sprang out from behind one of those stone structures and ran off. I'm still amazed!!

Image

This is the photo of the people as the leopard ran away!!

I do know there is a sign that tells you to get out of your vehicle at own risk, but I'm still not so sure whether you should get out when you've seen the predator moving about yourself!!!

The morning of 28 October we saw this leopard, not sure whether it's the same one as the previous day, as there were people saying that there were three leopards in the area that few days.

Just before Auchterlonie on the left hand side going south.........

Image

Cropped just sort of seeing no spots, but one big blur!!!!!!

Image

and with in moments he decided to lay down and you could not see him anymore!!
