Trrp, Nkulu, Lion Queen, Jeannie, Carol.... I went onto facebook to write a message for Barbara. Her last two facebook entries left me thoughtful. One was about missing someone who had passed on, the other about the shortness. of life.

Barbara had indeed been in a reflective and thoughtful space, open to the unknown and eternal.

This picture is, for me, about reflection. There is something timeless about the rocks, and the vulnerability of the two little klippies remind us that life is indeed short.

Today is Barbara's funeral and this is dedicated to all those who feel the sadness of loss.

Jeannie, Carol, Trrp, Lion Queen, Philip, Nkulu.... thank you for joining me.

In nature we learn that all death brings new life. I see the stark, empty bones of trees are sprouting buds and blossoms. It is a time of hope. Not even hayfever can still the joy.

What we see is a mere reflection of something greater and deeper.

Philip, so true. Sadly, our modern life takes us away from this reality. We are disconnected from the natural and the supernatural. Every time we disrespect the earth, we cut ourselves of from our own soul.

GM, Carol, Nkulu, it is time to greet the new day, each day is a covenant, a sacred contract.
