Battery Charger for Motor Vehicle.

Unread postby adw » Sun Jun 26, 2011 10:58 am

I intend staying at some electrical free camps (eg Balule Tsendze) and enquire from other forumites if any of them have a battery charger for their camera which works off a 12v system. (car battery).
(My camera is a Nikon.)

I use an inverter to charge camera, laptop and shaver. They are available at outdoor shops from <R1,000 but rather invest in one of at least 600W

I have a 350W inverter built into my canopy in conjuction with a dual battery system and works fine for all my camera and laptop charging needs. I also shoot Nikon!

Thanks Switchback. I have obtained an inverter (1000watt). Will be using it in September!

Sjoe, ok! You're not kidding around - now you'll be able to use your hair dryer, shaver and welding machine all at the same time! Glad you are sorted!

What I did was the following.

I used a old UPS's insides and mounted that into a box with a three way plug into it a battery connection from it with a hella plug that draws power from a power source from my dual battery setup. All were setup within my canopy.

I now have enough to get all my electronics charged from that.
