Love the all the photos...but the landscape with a variety of light are the ones i like the best and seem to make me long to go back more than others....I think it is the peacefullness they seem to convey...unfortuanatly my landscape pics arent upto much.

Here are my favourite bird pick ( a bit predictable) and my favourite action pic from the hide at mapungwabe.

The least movement is of importance to all nature. The entire ocean is affected by a pebble.

We recently had a wonderful month in Kruger and Mapungubwe after a gap of more than ten years. We saw and photographed a lot of lions and a couple of leopards but these gentle pics are my favourites.

Haven't seen a large number of Leopards in our Kruger visits but this one (very pregnant we think) caught on video a few years ago is my wife's all-time favourite. I think I agree with her for once!

Kruger Ellies

Unread post by bishop3006 » Thu Feb 12, 2009 1:33 pm

Mostly my photos are not very good.

This is one of the rare exceptions - the lighting made this a very special photo.
Image

And this one is special, not because of the quality, but because of the way the others protect the calf.
Image

These ellies were both taken in Kruger but don't ask me where as I don't know. Will know when I get there again to note where things were taken.

Hi bwana,
There's no reason to single out a photo from this thread--they're all outstanding. But, one did make me laugh and it was Baffers photo of the smiling baboon (I never did look down to see if the other baboon was also smiling).
I've got photos to submit also and they have nothing to do with the quality of the image but everything to do with what I find important. To me the occasional interaction between animals and us is a privilege I cherish. The first two are with my wife being sniffed by a black rhino and then an elephant. The last is an orphaned ground squirrel that was adopted by this wonderful lady (the squirrel lives in her collar during the day).
