This one was taken when Kaapsedraai and me had a reunion at LP before he travel north.... :hmz:

This was the first time we saw them at LP in the open over the years...and we had a blast.. :dance: :dance:

Two sightings of uncommon birds at Lake Panic.

Little Bittern with chicks nesting in the reeds to the right of the hide.

A White Backed Night Heron listed as uncommon to rare. It's nocturnal so sighting are few and the bird may be more common than appears. My wife and I went to Lake Panic after very early one morning and she managed to get about 10 pictures before the bird disappeared into the bush. We have never seen this heron again at Panic but we did get a few pictures of the heron at Sweni hide on a different visit.
