A few pics to show what Lake Panic looked like in Feb 2017.

On the right side of the Hide, the grass was extremely long, which made seeing any animals or birds almost impossible. So the chances of seeing any sign of the leopard where he normally visits was zero.

When one first arrives at the Hide, it appears that there is no sign of life, but patience pays off and before long, everything starts to make an appearance.

...Woodland Kingfishers

Image

Image

... a Hippo, a Fish Eagle flying off with a frog in it's talons, a Serrated-hinged Terrapin and even a Paradise Flycatcher far off in the distance.

Image

... Pied Kingfishers.
Image

... Village Weavers, Yellow-billed Kites
Image

... and beautiful Water Lilies.

Amazing what one can see at Lake Panic with a little patience. I am always amazed at how many people visit the hide, stay for 5 minutes and then go again.

Thank you for those lovely pictures, Jesscan. :D

The lake looks so lush and filled with new life. What a difference to last year. I always love the locals, those woodies were really in full cry this year. pictures.

Love your Pied shots Jesscan and my goodness that grass is tall now and completely obliterating that side of the dam.
