What exactly qualifies for a high-five? How come the sable didn't get one?

Only spotted cats qualify for a high five! But personally I liked the sable as much as the cats. Besides, if all highlights would qualify for high fives in a park like kruger, after a week we would have no hands left!

No problemo, Jay! On our first visit Kruger made us fall in love with the "game viewing experience". This time Kruger made us fall in love with the park itself. So there is no doubt we will visit again. Problem with your country is there is just too much to do and experience when you can only visit let's say every two years. Next time we'll probably want to go back to kgalagadi again. Result: I'm now thinking on a way to combine Kruger and Kgalagadi in one trip (keeping in mind that I could not stand visiting SA without seeing table mountain).

Thanks by the way for your comments (this goes for everybody who has made some comments) but believe me: it was as nice for me to write as for you to read!

Now working on my pics!

They were three! But if you look at A&C's report, a few days before I saw them in the same area he saw a mother with 4 cubs so I think she lost a cub not long before we saw them. Anyhow, it was a tremendous sighting and it kept going on till we had to leave the scene. As I said in my reports, on top of that we were even so lucky to have the sighting for ourselves!

She was very active and we think she was looking for prey but as I told in my reports we had to leave in order to reach JNB int. airport in time.
I think you can imagine we were driving all the way from kruger to the airport with a BIG :D on our faces.

Last pic of the cheetah sitting next to the tree is brilliant.
I love them all :D

Thank you very much Bert! I realise we were lucky, all the more if you know that in our original scheme we would have left the park the day before we came across this super sighting. It felt that Kruger was rewarding us for having decided to stay just one day longer.

Nico wrote:Absolutely stunning pics Salva. The second pic is real beauty, like a painting

And you would know, wouldn't you? Personally i like the first one the best because of the expression on her face combined with the stretch. I trust we will all see some other beauties in a few weeks time (go for it, Yvonne!).

Thanks for the compliments. And that goes also for all the rest who responded to the reports and the pics.

In the course of this week I'll post some more. (and also an Addo report with some pics)

Hi all,

I have now finally finished my kruger pics on my website (http://www.flickr.com/photos/coessensbart/)! According to the number of views the following ones are quite popular!
