Most of you know that I used to love Skukuza and surrounds. Yes, you're reading correctly - used to love. I've been up North for the last 3 years, maybe a bit more, so received quite a shock when I found myself in the Zoo again this time. Suddenly I saw Skukuza through Northern eyes and I realized I would probably never go there again to stay. It was just too busy, too big and the traffic jams for one female kudu and a baboon were horrifying! Tshokwane? No match for Pafuri, Babalala, Mooiplaas. Lake Panic will always be a huge favourite as far as birdhides go, but Mathambeni at Engelhard, where you have it to yourself for hours? The lions near Masorini and the Sable were brilliantly quiet sightings. There were cars but all civilized and quiet. What if that was in the Skukuza area? Doubt I would've enjoyed it half as much.
At last I admit to being a converted Northerner. Anything north of Satara just gets better every time.
Plotting a stay at Tamboti and Croc Bridge in 2016...

I'll add more photos later and write up a bit about KTP. I'm currently putting together all my pano's, which means that my computer has it's tongue hanging out of it's CD-player most of the time.
