Lecter & Ollie in Kruger : April 06

Unread post by lecter » Wed Oct 04, 2006 9:50 am

Sorry for the late trip report.
So many things to do these days.
We had an awesome trip, end to end in the park.
This was our second Kruger trip. It's such a pleasure to visit with the staff being most pleasant, the facilities clean and usable (apart from a Bat incident at Olifants) and some nice viewing.

I'll just drop some pictures. I know Ollie had a ball.... he's a little more prolific on the posting than I am.
Here's a few:
These are Black and Whites:

Salva wrote:Superb pics, Lecter but of course also top of the notch material! I like the white fronted bee-eater A LOT!

Mind you, it's a tad easier being a fan of the equipment you mention in Thailand than in Europe  (bought my lens in Kuala Lumpur myself  )

I buy my gear from a myriad of places.
Hong Kong - can get new gear early
Singapore - Prices can be OK
USA - Everything is there. I travel there and have colleagues travelling here. Very handy.
Australia - Prices not dissimilar to US once you collect the tax at the airport (hehe)
New Zealand - can be expensive, but the bigger shops will deal on large ticket items back to US prices, and then you get the tax back at the airport.

Here's another bird for ya!!

Also nice "nature" pictures on your website  I see live is though in Bangkok
Regards,
Cees

btw, met/saw you guys a couple of times in April (S30, Mopani early morning with some mating Lion around, Shingwedzi) :)

I remember this. The yellow ribbon kicked in there. We were disappointed not to see more yellow ribbons, but we were asked a lot about them and we able to point travellers to the forum here. Dunno how many converts we got, but we did evangelise furiously.
Cheers
