SG's Winter Trip to Kgalagadi

Unread post by Son godin » Sat Oct 07, 2017 3:33 pm

During the previous years we have visited Kgalagadi only during the warmer month in December and April, but last year decided lets try out winter again in July. This is my son's last year at school and we had no choice but to going during the busy July holiday. The next visit will be outside school holidays and definitely not during the winter again. Beside the cold nights we had a good time in the park and would like to share our experience with you. I am trying out a different way to present and hope the file opens quickly and not a problem to view.

I'm sure Kgalagadi during winter time is only for the very brave Son Godin! You must be a very brave family!

Looking forward to read all about this trip!

Always a pleasure to open up a travel Tale fro Kgalagadi. If your first picture or anything to go by this will be a goodie. We have only ever be in September or April. And have heard of how cold it can get in the winter especially if you’re camping. Water freezes up etc.

Looking good! I'm going to enjoy this.

Interesting format you have followed and I think it will work out well. However it looks like many people have not realised that they need to open the pdf link to see your TR as there have been many more views than downloads. Perhaps you should include an instruction before each link?

Hi gbird,

Thanks for the viewing and true what you say. I've lost my Photobucket account and is trying something new to report back on. I will give some more instructions and also link to the website where the photos are stored.

COS,

Sightings were less than the warmer months, but still a few great moment enjoying the animals of KTP. I think we did more driving around and realized you don't have to wake-up so early as the cats wait for the son to warm them and only move from 9 - 10 am.

My trip report will be in PDF format and required to open the file. Thanks for the interest.

Hi Hilda I am not sure if it is for the brave or those with a short memory. Must say 70 % of the time it was great and even wondered what happened to winter, but should never have asked it as it did show up a few days later.

If you would like to follow my trip just open the PDF file below the photo. Hope it will be fine to do the TR in that way. After Photobucket problem I decided to present it rather in PDF format not to loose the photos again.

No problem opening in PDF format at all Son Godin, I share your loss of trust in the hosting sites!

Only problem is, one can not copy the image of a photo to nominate on the forum should one want to. :hmz:

Lovely Gemsbok, Meerkat, Ostrich, Kori Bustard and Jackal sightings!
