Mange or not Mange....

Saw this little one on the 31st of August on the Tzendze loop....
We thought it had mange...but when we looked at it with our binocs (all 4 of us in the car)we saw the black parts was shiny hair....
Very strange looking :?

That is very strange as well as interesting

Looking forward to some opinions on this one :D
Isn't it just amazing how potatoes give us fries and vodka? :D The rest of the vegetables should get their act together :rtm:

Thanks Rosemary. I saw a similar photo on FB. I wonder if it was the same animal.

John Adamson had a look at the pictures and did some asking.

I received the following from him:
From Dr Lin- Mari de Klerk Lorist...."Did you see this animal yourself? Is the hair completely absent. I'd be inclined to say any of the mange mite infestations (psoroptes, sarcoptes, chorioptes) Impossible to tell without skin scraping, hairpluck and biopsy"

Four of us looked at it with our binocs....the black areas was black hair...shiny....no skin visible.
