Ground Squirrel Xerus inauris

Body: 25 cm, cinnamon above with white underparts. White stripe on flanks. Has long claws fo digging. Blunt muzzle.
Tail: 21 cm, bushy, striped longitudinally and often held over the head for sunshade.
Colony: Live in burrows, sometimes occupied with yellow or slender mongoose.
Diet: Plant material and sometimes insects. They forage by day.
Mistaken Identity: sometimes mistaken for a suricate.
I have found them widely through out KTP. Many come and forage food from the guests. These two pix were taken at Nossob.
