This is Makhulu.

The leopard is massive. A brute of rosettes. He is most easily identified by his collar. Also renown for demolishing the warthogs in Sabie Park, and famously walking out the Kruger boom at Paul Kruger and walking past morning traffic causing people to jump in their cars! This sighting was on the S1 Phabeni road Oct 2012 near the S65 turn off :D

Thanks julle!

Skukuza has a high density of leopards in the area! Still takes luck to find them ... this one did not pose a challenge to spot 8)

Those are some super Leopard photos.

The H10 has always been one of our favorite roads. One day we were able to photograph the big 5 and an African wild cat. Here is a photo of the leopard from that day in 2011. The photo was taken about 2K after starting on the H10 from Lower Sabie.

Phokojwe,

It was that. In this photo the baby is feeding, after which mom put it into the rocks and went out to hunt. I assume.

This photo was taken just south of Satara. The cat was in the grass and the elephants came all around it. She/he just sat quietly until they passed. Sorry about the quality of the photo but it is a unique perspective.

No need to apologise :) The :cam: captures the moment exactly as like it was.

Love the natural 'elephant frame' around the leopard

Nice one, Jan van Wyk.

bshepardson, you have some superb captured moments with leopards; that mom with the tiny baby is a rare life moment unlikely to be repeated, and a great perspective of the leop through the moving ellies.  Great stuff; perhaps that theory that foreigners always have the best luck is being reinforced with these contributions?
