Crested Val, what a fantastic pic of the two kitties ! Early next month I am going to search the Mahonie Loop over and over in search of these two (and/or their mom). Can you recall on which side of the loop did you see them ?

We were with Val when we saw them Lennie and it was the end nearest the camp gate and within a few kms we found a huge male Leopard who crossed the road in front of us and then barely a km further on these 2 cuties sitting on a termite mound.
I will hopefully be starting a T report in the next few days when I will have some more pics of the male and the cubs.

Hi All

What have the sightings been like around Punda Maria lately?
We are headed there on the 27th April and I'm starting to get super excited. :D :D

Hi GlenD

Very wet! Hopefully a bit drier in April...
We hardly saw any elephants there, and NO animals drinking at Klopperfontein because there was so much water in the veld.
But flowers and birds everywhere... lol
You should be a bit luckier by then!
God bless,

We stayed at Shingwedzi over the period April 27 - May 2 this year and we had some great sightings.

Whilst we were there we had good lion sightings on the S55 with a mating pair and a second male hanging around waiting for an opportune moment to get involved.

We also were privileged to see a python eating an impala on the confluence loop at the camp turnoff. This was a once in a lifetime sighting. We came across it late one afternoon after advice from another tourist late in the afternoon. We left the snake there as it was closing time and the next morning we went straight back to see if the snake was still there but all we could find was a female lion finishing off an impala roughly 5 meters away from where we saw the snake thus we can only assume that the lion stole the impala from the python!!

Whilst we were there Wild dog were also seen twice at Babalala but we weren't able to see them. One of the mornings the wild dog came right through Babalala to disturb everybody's breakfast and we missed them by roughly an hour. It is great to hear that there are wild dogs in the area, I hope that they establish themselves in and around Shingwedzi

Already looking forward to the next trip to Shingwedzi what a great camp!!
