Re: Mapungubwe: ADVICE

The description for the Leokwe CO2/4P accommodation says there is one bedroom with 2 single beds, and a double sleeper couch (not suitable for children). I hadn't noticed this when I made a booking for 3 adults. Could anyone who's stayed in these units comment on how suitable they are for 3 adults? ...

Re: Pretoriuskop Rest Camp

Thanks Elsa - yes, it looked to me like the same bathroom pictured in both. Was was just assuming from the description that one of them must have a shower. I'll try emailing the camp

Re: Pretoriuskop Rest Camp

One more BG6 question - the website says they have bath or shower. As far as I can see, there are only two of these units, #40 and#55 - does anyone know which one has the shower? Or, by process of elimination, which one has the bath?! thanks

Re: Tamboti Satellite Camp

Last time we stayed at Tamboti, in 2019, only units 36-40 of the LSTs had been renovated. Can anyone confirm whether 31-35 have been done in the meantime? Thanks

Re: Reservation questions/advice

Hi, what is the process for transferring a booking (in this case, part of a booking) from one person to another? eg, person A has a booking for 4 nights at Skukuza, 4 nights at Satara. He wants to transfer the first two nights at Skukuza to person B, a separate registered user on the online reservat...

Re: Pretoriuskop Rest Camp

Thanks again Elsa. One further question - will these units have an electricity socket - BG4 and BG6 in particular? Sorry for all the questions, it's just that the only communal facilities units we've used before was at Balule, where power obviously isn't an issue anyway.

Re: Pretoriuskop Rest Camp

Thanks Elsa, and apologies for not being clear, but I meant the accommodation units - I realise they don't have fridge, hotplate etc, was just double-checking they don't have a kettle either.

Re: Pretoriuskop Rest Camp

Hi, I am just checking whether the 'communal kitchen' units in Pretoriuskop eg. BG2, BG6, EB2 etc, have an electric kettle in them? My presumption is they don't, but just wanted to double-check. Thanks

Re: Mapungubwe routes

Thank you so much Meandering mouse and Arks for answering my questions; it is so helpful. Just a few more, if you don't kind. When you say 'the road to the hide', which hide is that? Is there anywhere online where I can find a detailed, up to date map of the Park? I've tried google without much succ...

Re: Mapungubwe routes

Thanks both. We are very much looking forward to it. Given Leokwe is unfenced, can you just go for a walk from the camp? Is the hide in the western section accessible by sedan? Is the Sanparks map on the Mapungubwe page up to date regarding what is 4x4 only? Are there any picnic sites? Are there the...

Mapungubwe routes

We hope to have three whole days in Mapungubwe in early January, staying at Leokwe. It will be our first time in the Park. I understand there are a limited number of routes compared to eg. Kruger, especially as we will only have 2-wheel drive. What are the recommended drives to get a good feel for t...

Re: Accommodation - ask all your questions here

Does anyone know if Bateleur or Shimuwini are among the camps where you can request an extra mattress? We would like to fit 7 of us into a 6-sleeper cottage if possible, with the 7th being a 9yo girl. TIA

Re: large guest houses

We stayed at Rentmeester in Shingwedzi in October 2019. The decor was a little bit tired, but that didn't take away from our enjoyment. It's in a wonderful spot - the only living accomodation in camp overlooking the Shingwedzi river bed. It's right in the corner of the perimeter fence, some 150m awa...
