Thanks Salamanada, I agree I have seen a lot of them I was just questioning it more as being on the "impossible list" ?

Not too many on my list here but better than nothing, I had one question regarding the Yellow Billed Oxpecker is it a difficult find ? Re: Have you spotted the Elusive Eleven?

Have only seen a few so far:

African Civet
Porcupine
Sidestriped Jackal

Seen all on one night drive from Olifants along with a Leopard with 2 sub-adults. The Jackal is the only one I have also seen in daylight and the Civet we see on almost every night drive anywhere in the park.

Re: Mamba at Lower Sabie

Pleased it got relocated safely, still never seen any snake in the park but not sure I would have chosen seeing a Mamba in the roof while eating as my first experience.

Re: Can I stay in the park without a car?

Glad you managed to get something sorted on this and certainly get out on as many drives as your budget can afford, if you can stretch to it I would also suggest the early morning bush walk from Skukuza. It is a great experience and one I would love to do again as you see things form a completely ne...

Re: Photography Kit Parade

I have cut my kit down a lot recently, I used to use a couple of Panasonic cameras and then have a Sony HD camcorder for videos. Thankfully I have 1 camera that does it all now which is the Panasonic FZ1000 which is a bridge camera of sorts. It has 4K video capability which I have used for the last ...

Re: South Africa's stock pile of Ivory

My first thought would be to burn it, if it was sold who would be buying it ? Would it send the wrong message saying you can buy our ivory if the government agrees and we get the money but you can't buy directly poached ivory. Surely something is either wrong or right. I know the ivory is probably f...

Re: Drought Cull - 350 Hippos and Buff...

I don't like the idea of culling at all but then I have no experience of knowledge of running a park as vast as Kruger either. If animals are going to die because of the drought is it better to do it quick rather than through starvation and affect even more animals ? If the meat can be used to feed ...

What the hell is wrong with people, why come into a park with this and shoot at animals. Hope they are found and banned for life from any park if they can be.

Re: Top ranger caught for poaching

This added to the 2 arrested in the North recently ruin the good work I am sure the other rangers are doing. You can't let some put everyone under suspicion but how many more are at it and haven't been caught yet. :(

How many ranges are in the park in total ?

Re: Bruce Bryden - A Game Ranger Remembers

I picked this up on my visit last month and am about 1/3 of the way through it now and just finished reading about his encounters with Lions. Found it a bit difficult reading as there is a lot of death a the beginning and talking about culling, hopefully the next 2/3 will be a bit of a nicer read. G...

Re: Field Guide caught on camera kicking a Pangolin suspended.

What with this and the 2 rangers arrested for possibly poaching it's been a sad few weeks However at least they are being caught and hopefully punished, much better than nothing happening and one day it might be eradicated if the reason people are doing these actions can be addressed, but easier sai...
