Re: Shingwedzi Rest Camp
Thank you Elsa, it is just a pity that when I contacted them they did not tell me that.

Re: Shingwedzi Rest Camp
If I had booked and paid for a perimeter site and arrived to find none available I would certainly go straight to reception where I'm sure it would be rectified even if those in the incorrect sites were made to break camp and move to a correct site. So would I but I was informed they can not guaran...

Re: Shingwedzi Rest Camp
I have just made contact with Shingwedzi regarding the allocation of perimeter campsites like Tsendze but was informed it is still a first come basis. They further admitted that non perimeter campers take perimeter sites and it is a huge problem. Surely they can develop a system to address this prob...

Re: Conflict in nature - the harsh life of the KTP
To all my stunning “bus passengers” thank you very much for sharing the journey with me. It was indeed a priviledge to share the TR with you. There were some sad moments, some exciting stuff but most of all some wow moments. It makes you once again appreciate this beautiful country we live in. Hope ...

Re: Conflict in nature - the harsh life of the KTP
This TR is unfortunately almost at its destination. I will share a few last images and then a personal favourite sighting to end off with. As normal I take quite a lot of images during a trip but then aggressively grade and select images so that I end up with only a few hundred (this trip +- 600) ed...

Re: Conflict in nature - the harsh life of the KTP
On the way back from Mata Mata I found the two male lions sleeping under a tree on the opposite river bank between 13th and 14th Borehole. They had thus turned around and walked back and probably decided to take a rest. I returned to camp and relaxed on the veranda of my chalet. I had booked the hon...

Re: Conflict in nature - the harsh life of the KTP
Let me take a step backwards in time When I left for Mata Mata early in the morning I met two stunning male lion walking in the river bed roaring. This was probably halfway between Urikaruus and the first borehole (I can never remember if it is 13th or 14th) https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4655/38807...

Re: Conflict in nature - the harsh life of the KTP
After packing my belongings, making sure that I did not leave something behind I said goodbye to Franco and departed for Urikaruus. On the way I had some interesting sightings although it was overall still very quiet after the cold front that passed through https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4751/257406...
