Re: Punda and shingwedzi sightings

Hi all, Shingwedzi is my favourite camp. Always had exceptional experiences here. The best was, we left by the back gate, as it opened, traveling east. It was still dark, just a hint of light on the horizon. There was a little mist hanging in the air when suddenly we were surrounded by a big slumber...

Re: Bobbejaankrans

A short while ago, my wife and I were sipping coffee early in the morning at Bobbejanskrans, enjoying the view and peacefulness. We heard another car arrive and a loud ladies voice said - " careful they will bite you " We turned around and there were 3 hyenas standing a couple of meters aw...

Re: north or south

My opinion, is the cenral areas. Orpen, Satara, Balule,Olifants and Letaba.

Plenty of game and birds, fantastic scenery and in places not so many traffic jams.

Wonderful !!!!!

My favourite are the Appleblaar's along the Timbavati when in full bloom.

Second are the Fever Trees especially at Pafuri.

Re: Kruger in February

February in KNP to me is one of the best times of the year. Yes, the grass is tall, the bush is thick and green but oh so beautiful. The light is also different somehow, clear yet soft. And to cap it all the migratory birds are still in abundance. European bee-eaters, european rollers, carmine bee-e...

Re: What's wrong with the hyena in the pond?

I agree with Oddesy, just cooling off from the heat.

Also if you look through Satara highlights for November they have been doing it for a couple of days, even at night.

Enjoy your camera viewing.

Re: Jackal Research Project in the Frontier Cluster

Always sad for an animal to die due to research, but if in the long run it is to their benefit ( and the rest of nature ) then we have to accept it.

Re: frustration with booking requests!

Good morning, It is my understanding that Central Reservations book units, that is eg, a BD2 in a particular camp. The actual allocation of accommodation is done at the camp itself, all kinds of situations arise at the camp on a day by day basis that are not known by Central Reservations, that is wh...
