chirinda, your plant is Acrotome inflata (Tumbleweed or Tolbossie) and i have seen quite a number of them in Mapungubwe 8)

Is there a petition anywhere that can be signed - What can an ordinary citizen do about this issue? Yes there is.... @MM…the following link gives more detail on the action taken…there is indeed still hope. These organizations need all the support we can give them. Hi Jon, Welcome to the forum! Glad to see someone interested in flowers! Great photo of the Zaluzianskya (purple Drumsticks) Your tiny blue flower next to the Gazania is a Wahlenbergia - not 100% sure which one but i would go for W. prostrata .

Your tree is a Belhambra / Pokeberry tree... Phytolacca dioica or in afrikaans Bobbejaandruifboom.

It was introduced from South-America and is unfortunately a declared Category 3 invasive plant in South Africa.
