Media Release: Results of Tourism Month Readright Competition Delayed
An overwhelming response of 759 submissions was received in response to our Tourism Month Competition that appeared in the ReadRight section of the Sunday Times on 2 September 2001. Of this, 178 are written compositions, 367 artistic submissions and 214 combinations of artistic and written essays. In total, entries from 122 schools were received.
Given the quality of the submissions, it soon became apparent that we would be unable to meet our earlier stipulated announcement date of 2 December 2001, if we wished to do justice to the effort, care and thought students exerted in their submissions. For this we wish to thank all participants, as well as parents and teachers for any assistance they may have rendered.
The winners of the ReadRight competition will now be announced in the first edition of ReadRight 2002. To check whether your syndicate is the winning team of the 4-day trip to Kruger National Park, diarise page 3, ReadRight, Sunday Times, 20 January 2002.
