The Kruger National Park (KNP)’s Balule low-level bridge will temporarily be closed for maintenance from 31 May to 10 June 2016. The bridge will therefore not be accessible for guests going to and from Balule Satellite Camp during that period.

22 May 2016 - President Jacob Zuma on the 21st May 2016 handed over R84 million in financial compensation to six communities of Limpopo and Mpumalanga who claimed land in the Kruger National Park. The communities had lodged their claims during the first re-opening of the Land Claims process which ended in 1998.

Augrabies Falls National Park was the perfect place to stage a unique and challenging one day race. The first Klipspringer Challenge and the shorter but tough Klipspringer Lite took place on 01 May 2016 and attracted some of the best endurance athletes in the Northern Cape and the rest of South Africa. Just over a 100 runners participated in the two races. The Challenge, a 40km race, started at 06h00 and the Lite, a 21km race, started at 06h30. This meant that both races had a dark start, so headlamps was compulsory for every runner.
