


The rocky shore along our coastline is home to a vast array of plants and animals. Best explored at low tide, the exposed pools contain creatures more bizarre, amazing and beautiful than you ever imagined.The inter-tidal Excursion (1½ hour).
This Excursion is full of excitement where you wander along the shoreline discovering the miracles of the inter-tidal zone. This activity is great for everyone, young or old. Your guide will explain how these inter - tidal creatures have adapted to the harsh, constantly fluctuating environmental conditions in which they live. It is advisable to wear old shoes with a bit of grip remaining to protect your feet. They may get wet. Booking required.The Pool exploration (1½ hours).
This is a safe and fun way for adults and children to explore the magical under water world of the tidal pools. Masks and snorkels are provided so that you can get right into the bigger pools where your guide will show you some of the best kept secrets of the sea. You do not have to be able to swim, as the pools are relatively shallow. However, children of twelve years and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Booking required.
Snorkeling and Scuba Diving.
Further exploration of our wealth of marine life is best achieved by taking part in guided snorkeling and diving excursions offered by Stormsriver Adventures from the Dive Hut at Stormsriver Mouth Rest Camp. A parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of ten and scuba divers must possess a scuba qualification. Diving courses are offered from time to time. The trip up the otherwise inaccessible Storms River Gorge gives visitors the opportunity to view the gorge firsthand and to marvel at one of nature’s many wonders.Huge caverns are interspersed on either side of the river, some which extend upwards for 20 meters providing a habitat for rare Bat species. Awesome cliff faces extend above the boat and block out the sunlight as one proceeds silently through the “black water”The Sprit of Tsitsikamma departs from the old jetty below the suspension bridge and runs every 45 minutes.
