Media Release: Plant a tree at Cecilia Car Park

Last year, TMNP held a series of successful tree planting days in Lower Tokai, where 800 shade trees were planted with the help of service organisations such as the Friends of Tokai Park, Tokai Residents Association, and the Friends of Constantia Greenbelt. This year, 1000 indigenous trees will be planted in and around the Cecilia Car Park following the upgrade of the area which was completed in September 2011. The public is invited to participate in planting the 1000 trees from the 24-26 July. The project forms part of the restoration programme for the Cecilia area. The trees have been sponsored by organisers of the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon for Conservation purposes.
If you would like to be part of this project by getting your hands dirty and planting some trees on our public tree planting days, register by sending your name and contact details to Wanika Rusthoi on wanika.rusthoi@sanparks.org or call 021 712 2337 by Wednesday 18 July 2012.
Space will be limited and so participants will be drawn on a first come, first serve basis. Dates, times and more detail will be given to those who register before 18 July 2012.
