Hi-Tec is generously sponsoring the footwear for the Hoerikwaggo™ Guides. Each graduate guide receives one pair of boots and one pair of shoes. As we expect the trails to be immensely popular we are very pleased that our guides most important asset – namely their feet – will be protected by strong and durable footwear.

By offering Table Mountain National Park a registration area that is accessible and spacious enough for our purposes, the Robben Island Museum has made it possible for us to begin the Hoerikwaggo™ Table Mountain Trail in the heart of the City of Cape Town.
It is also an auspicious start to the trail as Robben Island and Table Mountain National Park are sister World Heritage Sites linking the cultural and natural significance of the City of Cape Town - just as the Table Mountain Trail aims to do.

Founded by Liz and Nicholas Ellenbogen in October 1989, Theatre for Africa aims to combine the liveliness of theatre with educating people about the environment and its importance in their lives.
They have also played a big role in training actors from the communities bordering Table Mountain National Park to perform plays revolving around environmental issues. These plays were taken to the Grahamstown Festival as well as around the Cape Peninsula. Among these plays were Mountain People – centering the baboon issues at Cape Point, Working for Water about the clearing of alien vegetation and Urban Expression, which was about cleaning up the urban environment.
Theatre for Africa played a vital part in the training of the Hoerikwaggo™ Trail guides by teaching them the art of interaction and story telling.
