Mazhou Camping Site: Place of Elephants

Mazhou is a shona word meaning a place of elephants. The Mazhou Camping Site in Mapungubwe National Park was officially opened to the Public on the 1st of March 2007.The site is nestled close to the Limpopo Forest Tented Camp and Maloutswa Bird hide on the western section of the park.

The Camp caters for 10 caravans or tents and each camping site is equiped with a powerpoint. Guests intending to stay over at Mazhou are advised to call Mapungubwe’s reservations desk at 015 534 2014 or the central reservations office in pretoria at 012 428 9111 and check in is at the Mapungubwe Main Gate.

The sites are priced as follows:

Effective until 31/11/2007:R110.00(base rate 2 pax)

R38.00 Add Adult & R19.00 Add Child.

As from 01/11/2007 to 31/10/2008 the prices will be:

R120.00 (base rate 2 pax)

R40.00 Add Adult & R20.00 Add Child.

Pensioners Discount is available from Sunday to Thursday nights within the normal Pensioners Discount Periods.
