Media Release: Camdeboo National Park greening Graaff-Reinet schools
Date: 2012-11-02
Working for Water consists of members of the local community who are developed into independent contractors with their own businesses in plant eradication. These contracting teams play an important role in water release, as the alien plants they clear often use up a lot of our water resources.
About 500 learners from the Spandau and Nqweba Secondary Schools participated in the event, which was organised by the Park’s People and Conservation Department. Each school received ten trees, which the learners planted, with the assistance of teams from Working for Water.
