Camdeboo National Park
Environmental Education Centre
The Environmental Education Centre has been a feature of the Park since 1986, when it was still the Karoo Nature Reserve. It is located on the outskirts of Graaff-Reinet, making for a perfect environmental setting as there are no influences from the so-called city life or built world. The centre offers both day and overnight programmes for schools and environmental interest groups alike, all of which are charged a nominal fee. Private use of the centre can be arranged too.
Centre Facilities
The centre has a well-equipped kitchen and a lecture hall equipped with audio visual aids and many displays. The centre is able to sleep 48 learners in three dormitory-style units which have accompanying ablution blocks. It can also house four educators in a separate building with en-suite bathroom.
Centre Programmes
All programmes are specially designed as per the requirements of the groups and are aligned with the National Curriculum as far as possible.
